Hi!  I’m John

Welcome to my little planet in Cyberspace.

I am keen on the Great Outdoors, and love to get out of the city and enjoy God’s creation as much as I can. I am involved with the Auckland Baptist Tramping Club, and you can read about some of the Club’s trips I’ve been on. I am also involved with the Auckland Branch of the YHANZ, which also likes to get out and about.

I am also a member of the Railway Enthusiasts Society, and I occasionally go on  trips run by the Royal New Zealand Forest and Bird Protection Society.

As I said, I like enjoying creation in the outdoors, but I like to think about the Creator as well. I now go to Eden Community Church. You can view photos of events at this church here.

My musical preferences are all types of "nice" music - classical, easy-listening popular, rock'n' roll, 70s disco, country, jazz, traditional  hymns, praise-and-worship, blues, musical shows, 1920s-1950s nostalgia, lounge, motown, soul, etc. I enjoy going to concerts, theatre and quality movies.

My musical dislike is that unsettling concoction of screechy noises that many of today's young people love and consider as "music" - this come under all sorts of names such as heavy metal, grunge, garage, house, funk, punk, acid, hard rock, etc.

My favourite magazines include New Zealand Wilderness, New Zealand Net Guide, New Zealand Geographic, Forest and Bird, Creation, New Zealand Railfan and New Zealand Memories.

My working life is full of variety as well - gardening, moneying, computer work, telemarketing, cleaning, mystery shopping, and so on.

Leisure interests and work skills are giftings from God, and we have a responsibility to use, develop and share them - John 19:12-27 Parable of the Talents.

I update this site frequently, so do feel free to return again and again. I am also developing the site as time goes on, perhaps adding new ideas.

Please feel free to email me.

FINALLY - WHEN MY TIME IS UP ON EARTH I'M OFF TO HEAVEN!  HOW DO I KNOW? For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him (ie you and me) shall have everlasting life. (John 3:16).  WE CAN'T EARN ETERNAL LIFE, IT'S A GIFT FROM GOD, WHO MADE US AND LOVES US. You need to confess to Him that you have sinned, ask His forgiveness, and heaven's yours!
